The Importance of Urinary Output in Premature Children
In a very premature baby, so someone born between 22 and 29 weeks gestational age, their risk of acute kidney injury in the NICU is 45%. Once you're above that, your rates lower. It really just kind of depends on what's going on with the KID. Most babies by the time they get back to corrected full term should have appropriate tubular function for fluid management.
