The Retouched Version of a Placeusaur
Nessie author Tony Harmsworth says paint brush marks are clearly visible on large blow-ups of the revised versions. Reins himself admitted that there may have been retouching by a magazine editor. The un-retouched version doesn't contain anything that looks like a diamond shaped pen. Instead, it seems that Reins saw an indistinct pattern in the original and then he had it retouched to bring out thispattern more vividly.
