The Negative Effects of Language on Communication
In an equilibrium where you need to wear a suit if you want to be treated, seen as treating the situation respectfully. Once everybody knows about it, then almost everybody does it and almost nobody suffers much harm except for the fact that you have to wear a suits. And so this article is talking about use of language with respect to gender and race and things like that in a similar way. It's bad in both of those two ways,. That seems an important part of his thesis. So yeah, that's what I take the paper to argue, but maybe you can add or say it better than I did.
