The Tragedy of the Commons

If one company tries to pause alone, the only thing that's going to happen is they're going to get out-competed by other companies. The reason why we're still not paused isn't because these are not good people but it's because of what you refer to as 'Molok' Molok keeps pitting everybody against each other in a race to the bottom. This is how we should obviously have it also in all other fields, including AI, where if you're putting out a system which has potential to create harm then it should be the responsibility of the companies to demonstrate that it's safe.
