The Son of Man Addresses His Father
The event of the cross is an event of glorification. It's an event in which he is going to be lifted up or elevated by the father. Jesus recognizes that his hour has come, and he speaks to his father concerning it. The petition deliver us from evil also parallels with christ's prayer that his disciples would be preserved from the evil one. There are a lot of other parallels that we can see if we look deeper.
