What Is a Verb in German?

A verb is the action or state in a sentence. Just as verbs change form in english, they also change form in german. If you look up ran or running in the dictionary, you'd probably be diret ed to run. The infinitive form has an infinite number of possible whos and whens. In german, most infinitives end in the letters e n. For example, run will be lafen, and sit will be zitsen. Now it's time to turn to julia for our introduction to berlin. She gives us some insight into the history and what the tone is like.
