How Much Copper Do You Need?

We are pretty much absorbing 50% of the copper without changing it much initially. We regulate how much we re-secrete back into the bile that can then leave in the feces. Anything below 0.8 milligrams per day will lead to copper loss, and depending on how large the difference is, that could be a slow or rapid onset of deficiency.
