The male female gender binary is a simplified lens through which we can consider far more complicated individual phenomena. Sweet foods and savory foods exist, but again, only as a high level abstraction. Dishes with lots of umami are unlikely to be regarded as sweet, but it's way more complicated than that. And race does kind of exist on the biological level as well. Just because something is a social construct doesn't mean it isn't real.
