Oil is the one thing that kind of tempts washington into 19 try imperialism. The us does not seize oil directly as the spoils of war, though trump has said maybe it should have done so in a rock. But keeping oil rich countries in the hands of friendly governments allows us. Oil companies to do business there and keep the cheap flowing to the us. We can't really deny that all. It just doesn't see itself as such.
