The History of the Hashtag

The hashtag is a product of culture and of a set of ideas that i think needed to come to the forefront. It's important to remind people of where the web and social technology came from. Everything that i see happening now in the crypto space reminds me of the conversation tat we are having back in the early two thousands around decentralizing social networks. At the time, twitter had just come out. In two thousand six there was a couple of thousand people, mostly in the barea, trying out this new thing. We were using s m s as a new medium for publishing up dates and shearing to our friends. So in a similar way, we are memory in capsulations.
