The Role of the RNC Chairwoman in the Trump Debates

RNC chairwoman Ron McDonald said it would be a mistake for Trump to skip the debates. The only value to these debates is essentially that you do have moments where they call each other out, but they don't really get into policy. There was a point in time where it made sense to have these political leaders get together and then state their party platform. But people know the party platform now. If you're going to get together, you should actually have a debate.
