The hundred and 30 seventh psalm then gives us an abrupt change of mood. And we go from the rejoicing one 36 to the lamentation of one 37. This is a sad psalm as we picture the jews captive in babylon. What's there to sing about? Here we had our 15 psalms of ascent to climb to the mountain of the lord. What about being dragged down into the wicked world and being captured in babylon? Verse one, by the rivers of babylon, where we sat down. Yea, we wept when we remembered zion. How would the jews have felt about their homeland when they they couldn't return to it
