The Transition From French to Spanish Colonialism

In some ways, that transitionis not too rough, because there's some similarity in the culture. The spanish took a pretty hands off approach to this area. They wanted to maintain but they really were more concerned about protecting new orleans. But largely, saint genevieve remains very french culturally speaking. And that creeole french, that mixing of cultures here continues.
