The Puritan Era of Witchcraft
Edwin Baddes-Stella says many Puritans believed that witches were the living embodiment of evil. It was also a time when churches were rife with cliques and feuding groups, so those two things came together in what you could think of as a satanic anoch. Cotton Mather played an important role in the chaos surrounding the witch hunts.
