The Doctrine of the Atonement

You cannot fully teach the doctrine of the atonement without turning to the Book of Mormon. In Mosiah chapter 2, King Benjamin is addressing that very concept and he reveals two things that the law requires for transgression. If one man's guilt would make that man shrink in a state of misery and endless torment, what would an infinite level of guilt cost? Now that's the payment, he has to answer it on an infinite level. And by answering the ends of the law, Jesus can now do this.
