Is There a Shake-Up Coming for Stablecoins?
This week, the Financial Stability Board said that it was going to be telling G20 ministers and central bank governors a series of recommendations about regulating crypto. They also had a report out about stablecoins, which they had already issued rules for back in 2020. But given everything that happened, especially this year with the collapse of Terry, USC and Luna, the FSB felt the need to update those. Stablecoins are likely the first destination that regulators will head to when they think about how rules can shape the way that crypto looks in future.
