Time Bombs - A History of the Aircraft Crisis

Géal Bea and his friend Jean-Arrou built a time bomb in 1949. They were inspired by the Philippine Airlines passenger jet explosion that killed 13 people, including Rita Murray-Onge. The two men had no idea where to start so they decided on a detonation device. A test version was first built without the dynamite, and when the detonator went off at the set time, the men cheered. It's highly likely that Géal Beas inspiration came from another aviation tragedy just months earlier.
