The Importance of Inhibitory Learning
If someone has OCD, they are washing their hand a million times until they're bleeding and they can't leave the house. And we expose them to the thing they were afraid was contaminated and don't allow them to wash their hands. One of two things or both is going to happen. They're either going to desensitize or they're not really going to Desensitize so much but they are going to learn that they can handle this. We might call that inhibitory learning by learning what it's going to feel like when I get there now.
