If Only King Louis Had Done X

The king of France went rogue during a royal session in august. He interrupted the judges debate, making his will known and ordering edicts to be registered. The duke of orleans protested that such an intervention was illegal but Louis replied: it is legal because i wish it. In doing so he essentially turned this informal se royal into a formal lit do justice. This revolution is full of examples where one can say, if only king louis had done x. Here one cannot help but wonder what would have happened if only louis had kept his god damn mouth shut.
