Introduction
Professor Mark Blumberg is a distinguished professor of psychology and the chair of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. Most of what we've learned about infant sleep has been learned in the last roughly 15 years or so, which is crazy compared to previous research. The breakthrough for us was figuring out how to record brain activity in very young infants while they're sleeping. And that made it possible for us to get the first glimpses as to what the sleeping brain looks like.
