For millions of years, it was useful in certain contexts to confirm your anxiety. This very much overlaps with a lot of what i say when it comes to biases and fallacies,. Heristics and things that these area, confirmation bias being the one that most people are familiar with. And we call it confirmation. By us, ind its very intellectual and very abstract. But in the context in which it evolved., It's totally adaptive.
