The Benefits of Emotional Stress

Emotional stress can be good for you, but not too much. The term "hormesis" means what doesn't kill you makes you stronger or live longer in this case. Cortisol is really bad over time. That's what your body emits when you're under duress. But if you do a little bit of that stuff enough to make your body freak out a little bit, even emotional stress can be helpful.
