Taiwan's Relationship With the Rest of the World?
After 1949, most countries kept their diplomatic relationship with Taiwan because they did not recognize people's Republic of China. But in the 70s, the US decided to manage its relationship with Beijing. So ever since then, China says, okay, if you want to have diplomatic relations with me, you have to accept that one China principle. Only 13 countries left that still had relationship with Taiwan officially. Not the US, not the UK. Most Western countries all have relationship with China and will keep office in Taiwan.
