The Importance of Recording Sessions in Jazz

In the 1960s John Coltrane would form his classic quartet this featured elven jones on drums McCoy Tiner on piano and Jimmy Garrison on bass. Cannonball Adderly also had a quintet with his younger brother Nat who played trumpet which is one of my very favorite jazz groups they're just killer. And then to trace Cannonball further out into the 1960s he was still playing with Nat and he was also playing with the keyboard player Joe Zavanul who wrote the tune Mercy Mercy Mercy that was the title track on the 1966 album called Mercy Mercy Mercy. So here's a clip of that this is giant steps the title track off of 1960s giant steps. Man
