What a Human Toll
The concentration camps were in part a result of the fact that the German high command learned during the course of executing genocides, that their soldiers couldn't survive massacring civilians. There was a particular massacre called Bobbiyar where they shot like 30,000 people to death in a single day. That's so much psychological damage done, not just to the victims, but also to the people actively participating in these murders.
