The Importance of Shared Decision Making in Practice
We have multy morbidity. We've got an aging population living longer with lots of long term conditions. And that's quite difficult to manage. This is particularly important in the very oldly, who tend to get more adverse events from medication we're prescribing for them. The second theme is shared decision making. This is an intrinsic part of patient care that we're all meant to be delivering in general practice. But data suggests that we're only using it in around ten % of applicable situations.
