The ACCC's Decision to Block a Network Sharing Agreement
This week we saw the Australian Competition Tribunal uphold a decision by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the ACCC. To block a network sharing agreement between two of the big telcos, Telstra, the number one player, and TPG, the number three player. The deal would have been able to increase its population coverage here from 96% to 98.5%. Doesn't sound like much, but in the Telco game, that's important. This is just one of a few big matters that the ACCC has on its hands at the moment.
