The Goblins Are a Lot More Lucky Than Habits
A halfling is chosen for the adventure because they supposedly have a little bit more luck. He pulls out sting, and it's glowing blue, because obviously there are goblins near by. The goblin drops down and attacks him, and they both fall off the side of this cliff. It easily could have impaled him so fast. I mean, he should have died on all those rocks on his way.
