penal substitutionary atonement also known as PSA basically says and there are various versions of this so I'm going to do more of a broad thinking one. Jesus on the cross paid a penalty that we had accrued that human beings in their sin had accrued against God. So his death or blood if you want to call it pays the price for our sins to God so that we can be in right relationship with God. That was my experience. Maybe even PSA was conflated with the gospel. Do we have anybody like that? Uh oh now we're all going to hell which sucks. The cosmos is now a different place.
