Client-Side Scanning: What's the Difference?
There's some variability in terms of how these client-side scanning schemes work. Are there those that you've seen that you would regard as potentially spyware or very concerning from a privacy standpoint? I mean, the obvious dividing line here is a client-side app that reports the results out to a third party versus one that merely reports it to parties to the communication. And so you really can't assess the privacy implications without having a larger conversation about the institutional setting.
