The Shags
Shag is the dad's name. The shags were shy small town teenagers who dreamed of growing up and getting married having children maybe becoming secretary someday. They did like they liked music apparently but they had no interest in pursuing music. Austin pushed the girls into a new life and he named them the shags. Their father referred to both shaggy dogs and the then popular shag haircut. It was a twofer. Much like the Beatles that had two meanings.
