The Velvet Underground's Experience as a Writer
The Velvet Underground's first album was rejected by all three major East Coast labels. Instead they were booked to play on the West Coast, but it didn't go down well. The band stayed at a mansion house in Los Felis where lots of rock groups stayed. Ralph Gleason said that Warhol's inevitable show was nothing more than bad condensation of bum trips and Trips Festival.
