The Selfish Gene

Selfish is used in a formal evolutionary way to mean that you should expect geus to behave as if, and this is kind of the peke phrase. Most traits in most organisms are the product of orchestrated effort of multiple genes acting in concert but by this way of thinking, each genis duin that to in their own self interest. It is a kind antopomorphocizing in that you are using this characteristic of personification tat, if i was a gene, what would i do? Am te. The word selfish can then be used to generate a hypothesis that can then be expressed in a more formal way.
