The Role of Isoprost in the Treatment of Frostbite
Isoprost alone or isoprost with TPA resulted in near complete avoidance of amputation. In patients with frostbite extending proximal to the MCP or MTP, where amputation rates of 100% would have been expected, the actual rate was 12%. The available literature on the topic is thin, so thin that when the Cochrane collaboration published their review of the topic in December 2020, they considered it to be a high risk of bias.
