Dr. Bergen: A lot of humor is designed to have some sort of shocking quality, and so you use whatever is available at your own experience level. The only difference is that young children don't have a lot of experiences. They get reinforced right whether it's good or bad, but if you know the child says something, they're going to get laughs.
