The fall of the caliphate reverberated across the muslim world and I understand there were a number of projects and conferences that were established or convened to try to renew the caliphate. There's various feelings and emotions towards that but when the Ottoman Empire collapses it's a huge shock to the system like what just happened here. It simultaneously also kills the tilafic committee movement and the momentum that's attained in India as a way of being you know resisting the British.
