The Future of Pump Storage in the US

The storage study investigated a number of topics which are interesting to me. Can we do it all with just four hour batteries or do we need shorter and longer durations as well? Sure, that's one of the things that's so unique about storage relative to other technologies. It has this duration component to it, which is a little weird. And what happened was in kind of the early 2000s lithium ion batteries had gotten to the point where they were cost competitive for short duration application.
