The Forbidding of Acts
Commandment ten forbids a desire. You shall not covet the wife of your neighbour, nor his male or female slave, nor his ox or ass and anything that belongs to him. Gerard states on page 10, our neighbour is the model for our desires. This is what he calls memetic dmemetic desire. We want the object because somebody else has the object. And we've seen the reasons as to why such violence comes about in terms of gerardian theorizing - which is from coveting.
