Suhravardi's Criticism of Avasena

Suhravardi's system involves a number of smaller, but still significant, departures from Avasena. Where the peripatetics had recognized four elements, Suhravardi has only three. Your soul is a self-aware light and in that respect of the same nature as God, but God is a much purer, brighter light than any soul. To say that something exists is just a mental judgment; we'll come back to this in a further episode.
