Is Forestry a Carbon Sink?

There is a danger with a blanket approach to reforestation, especially in places where forests have no historical right to be there. We've set the planet's biosphere on to an open-ended change, a trajectory of change. So if we want to keep carbon locked into those ecosystems, then we have to ensure that viable forest ecosystems exist into the future. But we also recognize that obviously the forest aren't the only issue here.
