The Benefits of DTT Treatment for Red Cells
The circulating anti-CD38 is going to react with every red cell basically. If we take these red cells and treat them with DTT, then we're destroying the CD38 antigen on the red cells. So that's a good, probably one of the most common uses of DTT in either a hospital setting or in the reference lab setting. We use it most frequently in those antibodies that appear to be directed at an antigens of hypervolence.
