The Challenges of Greening Hydrogen
The biggest challenge right now is that a lot of the discussion about getting to green hydrogen it's purely speculation. There aren't really any good examples of places where you are using renewable energy to produce hydrogen. In certain cases they could increase the carbon footprint of the producer as compared to just burning fossil fuels. The possibility of eventually producing that hydrogen energy with renewables is appealing because the goal is to get to a point where you can decarbonize some of those really energy intensive industries.
