For nearly three decades, Florida has been a key battleground in presidential elections. From 1996 up until the presidential election of 2020, every candidate that won in Florida went on to claim the White House. A quarter of Florida's population is Hispanic; Cubans have been fairly reliably Republican. Puerto Ricans tend to be more swing voters than other Hispanic subgroups.
