Revolutions 20 Telli - The Russian Empire

Last week we looked at 700 years of early russian history from the founding of kievrus to the founding of the romanof dynasty. This week we are going to blast through another 200 odd years of russian history. We will focus specifically on two of the greatest leaders in russia, peter the great and katherine the great. They would help transform the russian state from an old style personal despotism into a new style absolutist monarchy. Along the way they dramatically expand the power and prestige of russia on the world stage.
