Madero's Plan of San Luis Potosi
Madero's newspaper was closed. His meetings were broken up. Madero himself was jailed, released, and then driven into exile in the US. Diaz held the election, declared himself reelected, and the official results gave Madero 196 votes. He had expected that if real opposition did appear, it would be in the army or a particular state. But he reacted late, but he reacted nonetheless.
