"I can tell you from the bottom of my heart. You absolutely deserve help," says Alok Agrawal, an Asian-American coach in Los Angeles. "The whole point is that your parents can place expectations on you and even in their way, it's not like they're trying to abuse you,. They're trying to help you in the way that they know how, but the culture weighs on them too." A lot of Asian kids would wind up in his office eventually, especially once I started doing things on the internet, he said.
