Is the Jewish Tradition More Open to Asking Hard Questions to Text?
I did not realize that until I started working with Jewish scholars that in the Jewish tradition, they are much more open to asking hard questions of those texts than I think evangelicals are on the whole. In fact, it's almost expected that you kind of rigorously investigate their entire midrash or tell music commentaries which are doing nothing but asking common sense questions to text. Do you find that, is that a selling point? I typically say, hey, this is what I've learned from my Jewish colleagues, is the openness to the text.
