The Violence Between Christians and Pagans in Alexandria
Starting around the second century a d when the christian community in alexandria really started to expand, violence in the streets between pagans and christ s became quite regular. This explosion of violence in three 91 could be read as the culmination of over a century's worth of hostilities between the two groups. The only difference was that in three 91, the christians now had the support of the state and the dominant religious authorities.
