The Role of Cyclooxygenase in Aspirin Resistance
Cyclooxygenase or Cox can turn arachidonic acid into a number of different compounds, prostaglandins and thromboxins. Vasodilacalandins are molecules that are really important in mediating a lot of different parts of the inflammatory response. The word thrombus means clot and a thrombocyte is a platelet. Plates are the blood cells in your body that are responsible largely for clotting. You need to have platelets in order for when you get cut to not bleed out everywhere.
