Rorty also calls it like the public part he just calls it public problem solving at 1.2 which I think is a useful way of thinking and actually he says on page 450 you know there's no reason to think we have to choose between Dewey or Derrida. The two activities can coexist peacefully and philosophy should not assign one some sort of epistemic priority over the other. That distinction between private and public is kind of a problem in his work throughout his work right that the like his notion of pragmatic pluralism was based on being separate from the public.
